Germany seeks measures against rising energy prices

Increasing energy prices is a common problem all over the world. While countries are embarking on the path of developing their own measures, Germany has decided to take a different path in this regard.

Germany seeks measures against rising energy prices

German Government Spokesperson Steffen Seibert also stated at the press conference held at the Federal Press Center that Germany closely monitors the rising energy prices in recent months and considers any intervention in prices as important as other European countries.

Stating that they consider any intervention in prices important in coordination with other European countries, Seibert stated that the government is evaluating whether temporary assistance can be offered for some households.

Seibert also pointed out that the new government to be established in Germany will look into national measures against energy price increases.

Beate Baron, spokesperson for the German Ministry of Economy and Energy, stated that the government is in contact with Russia and Ukraine on long-term gas supplies.

Dennis Kolberg, spokesman for the Ministry of Finance, also stated that the decision to appoint the successor of German Central Bank (Bundesbank) Governor Jens Weidmann, who will leave his post at the end of this year, will be made by the new government.
