In 2024, Georgia purchased $142.3 million worth of iron and steel from Russia, a 40% increase compared to the previous period. This is a record for the entire time of trade between the two countries. Imports in physical terms also set a record, reaching 234 thousand tons.
Russia became the main supplier of ferrous metals to Georgia at the end of the year. Iran (131 million dollars), Türkiye (60.5 million), China (57.4 million) and Armenia (24.3 million) were also among the top five suppliers.
