General Motors will install 40,000 charging stations in the USA and Canada by 2022. In a statement from the company, it was stated that GM and its dealers will work together to expand access to the charging station locally.
The initiative, which will begin in 2022, is part of GM's $750 million investment commitment to strengthen its presence in the fast-growing electric car industry.
In this context, it was stated that up to 40 thousand charging stations will be established in the USA and Canada and they will serve all electric car owners.
GM announced at the beginning of October that it plans to spend $35 billion on electric and autonomous vehicles by 2025.
Aiming to be carbon neutral in its global products and operations by 2040, GM announced that it plans to end gasoline and diesel production in vehicles by 2035 and produce only electric vehicles.
