After the repercussions of the Russia-Ukraine war and Germany's activation of the early warning level in the Gas Contingency Plan, natural gas prices in Europe increased by 13 percent.
The price of April futures contracts traded at TTF, the Netherlands-based virtual natural gas trading point with the deepest depth in Europe, was closed at 108 euros per megawatt hour yesterday.
The price of contracts opened at 110 euros per megawatt-hour today, increased by approximately 13.5% compared to yesterday's closing, and reached 123 euros per megawatt-hour at 12:58 Turkish time.
THE NEGATIVE EFFECT OF WAR ON PRICES CONTINUES
Prices are rising on fears that the Russia-Ukraine war will cut gas supplies.
In addition, the German Economy and Climate Protection Minister Robert Habeck's statement on activating the early warning level in the "Gas Contingency Plan" in case of interruption of natural gas from Russia was also effective in the price increase.
