Fujian Kebao Metal Products Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Fujian Sanbao Group, has entered into an agreement with SMS Group for two new tin plate continuous annealing lines (TIN CAL). This significant investment is being realised as part of Sanbao Group's growth strategy to produce high quality, food packaging-grade tinplate. Aiming to meet increasing domestic and international demand, the group aims to strengthen its position in the global market with this project.
The new lines will be installed in Sanbao Industrial Park in Zhangzhou, China. These lines, which will have precise and high-speed production processes, will be able to process tin strip in the range of 0.12 to 0.55 millimetres thick and 700 to 1,300 millimetres wide. The systems, which will have a processing speed of up to 750 metres per hour, will reach a total annual production capacity of 800,000 tons.
Production Line Equipped with Advanced Technology
State-of-the-art furnace systems supplied by Drever, a subsidiary of SMS Group, will ensure that the lines have efficient and reliable heat treatment processes. In addition, a double cold rolling mill (DCR) and a double stand skin penetration mill (SPM) integrated into the production line will improve the quality parameters of the tinplate produced, bringing it in line with the high standards of the food packaging industry. These advanced technology solutions will allow Sanbao Group to offer products that meet high safety and quality standards.
Strong Cooperation between Sanbao Group and SMS Group
Mao Lihua, project leader of SMS Group, said: ‘This project is an important milestone reflecting the strong co-operation between SMS Group and Sanbao Group. The fact that we have completed the negotiations in an exceptionally short time is an indication that we will realise the project on time and to the highest quality standards.’
The new lines to be installed at Sanbao Group's tin plate production facility are scheduled to be operational in mid-2026. This project will enable Sanbao Group to offer high quality tinplate products to the food packaging industry, while increasing the company's competitiveness in domestic and international markets.
