Fuat Tosyalı Elected as Chairman of TOGG Board of Directors

The Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of the company for 2023 was held on September 24 at its headquarters in Gebze Bilişim Vadisi with the participation of all shareholders. Fuat Tosyalı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tosyalı Holding, was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors, while Ahmet Nazif Zorlu assumed the role of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. At the meeting, Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, a member of the Board of Directors representing the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), handed over his position to TOBB Board Member Hakan Ülken. Tuncay Özilhan, representing the Anadolu Group, handed over his seat on the Board of Directors to Talip Altuğ Aksoy, a member of the Board of Directors of the Anadolu Group, while Zorlu Holding CEO Bekir Cem Köksal, who was on the Board of Directors of Togg on behalf of the Zorlu Group, handed over his seat to Olgun Zorlu, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zorlu Holding.

Following the General Assembly, the members of Togg's Board of Directors were as follows: Fuat Tosyalı, Ahmet Nazif Zorlu, Kamilhan Süleyman Yazıcı, Talip Altuğ Aksoy, Ali Taha Koç, Şerif Yavuz Tosyalı, Şenol Kazancı, Olgun Zorlu and Hakan Ülken.

New Term Message from Fuat Tosyalı

Fuat Tosyalı, who made statements after the change of duty, said, “We are grateful to our esteemed partners Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and Tuncay Özilhan, who have contributed greatly to Togg since its establishment and worked selflessly, for the value they have added to our company and our country. Our goal with Togg is to achieve the success we have achieved in our country in global markets with our exports starting in 2025 and to become a global technology brand as we set out to do. I wish our new board of directors success in our endeavor to achieve this goal.”

Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, who handed over the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Togg to Tosyalı, stated that he handed over this duty with the peace of mind of fulfilling the promise they made to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the nation and said, “I am proud that Togg has become a well-known, recognized and appreciated brand both in our country and in the world in a period that can be considered quite fast for such projects. I wish my friends on the Board of Directors and Togg employees continued success and I want them to know that I am always with them.”

Fuat Tosyalı's Biography

Born in 1961 in Hatay, Fuat Tosyalı took over the stove-pipe and boiler-bucket manufacturing business started by his father Hacı Şerif Tosyalı in the 1970s and started his commercial life and founded Tosyalı Metal Trade Company in 1988. In 1993, Tosyalı established Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş. and started industrialization with the production of rebar. In a short period of time, Tosyalı started to produce in many different segments under the roof of Tosyalı Holding.

In 2006, Tosyalı ranked among Türkiye's top 100 companies with the highest exports and in 2010, Tosyalı realized the first flat steel production of the private sector in Türkiye. In 2011, Tosyalı Algerie, Türkiye's largest industrial investment abroad, was launched, transforming Tosyalı Group into a global iron and steel giant with investments in Senegal, Angola, Libya-Bingazi, Spain and the Gulf countries.

The Group commissioned Tosyalı Toyo with Japanese giant Toyo Kohan and Tosyalı Harsco with US Harsco. Fuat Tosyalı, who has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of BMC Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., one of Türkiye's most established commercial and military vehicle manufacturers, since 2021, also serves on the boards of organizations such as the Turkish Steel Producers Association (TÇÜD), Mediterranean Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters' Association, DEİK Africa Business Councils Coordinator Chairmanship, Turkey Wealth Fund and Türkiye Tax Council.
