For the 14th time, POSCO was voted the 'World's Most Competitive Steel Producer'

World Steel Dynamics' (WSD) award signifies not only POSCO's excellent performance, but also its determination to maintain its leading position in the industry. In spite of the slowdown in domestic demand and complexities in global trade, POSCO maintained operational excellence and was particularly noted for its rapid recovery from the Naengcheon River flood.

The comprehensive WSD assessment analyzes steel leaders based on a variety of criteria. POSCO's performance in various areas, including technological innovation, processing costs, labor capabilities, mergers and acquisitions, national risk, and non-steel industries, earned the company a high overall score of 8.62 out of 10.

POSCO's achievement reflects not only its current operational excellence, but also its carbon reduction efforts, highlighted by its vision of "A Better World with Green Steel". The company is in a leading position in the global steel industry by prioritizing environmental sustainability.

This particular achievement expands on POSCO's previous successes, including being named "Sustainability Champion" by the World Steel Association for two years running and winning awards in the "Sustainability" category at the Steelie Awards. POSCO's presentation at the Breakthrough Technology Conference in Abu Dhabi on its neutral carbon strategy and HyREX, a hydrogen-reducing iron production technology, further underlines the company's leadership in the global steel industry.
