According to EUROFER's Economic and Steel Market 2024-2025 report, EU steel exports grew by 6% in the second quarter of 2024.
Finished, flat and long steel products contributed to the increase. It was reported that flat products increased by 8% and long products by 6% in steel exports. Flat products accounted for 65% of finished steel exports.
The EU's top steel exporters were the UK, the US, Turkey, Switzerland, China and Egypt. These countries accounted for 56% of total steel exports. Exports to the UAE increased by 91%, while exports to Ukraine fell by 14%. Exports to Switzerland and Egypt decreased.
