The sanction proposed by the European Union on Russia's mining sector aims to weaken Russia's post-war economy. The European Union thus aims to make it harder for Russia to finance its invasion of Ukraine. The proposal will be discussed by member states in the coming days. The decision is expected to be finalized by the end of next week. Previously, the European Union refrained from targeting Russia's metal sector due to concerns about affecting the supply chain in the world. In the event that a sanction is imposed on the mining industry, some products will not be included in the sanction.
