The Commission's leaked preliminary report on the anti-dumping investigation shows that provisional duty rates have been set for imports from Egypt, Japan and Vietnam. For imports from Vietnam, a provisional duty rate of 12.1% is proposed for Formosa Ha Tinh Steel, while other Vietnamese producers are expected to be assessed a 12.1% duty. Imports from India will be subject to a 0% duty as no dumping was detected.
Egypt's Ezz Steel Company and all other Egyptian producers will be subject to a provisional anti-dumping duty of 15.6%. Nippon Steel Corporation importing from Japan will pay the highest provisional duty of 33%. Other Japanese producers Tokyo Steel Co. Ltd. will pay a 6.9% duty, while Daido Steel Co. Ltd. and JFE Steel Corporation will pay a 32% duty.
The products concerned are hot rolled flat steel products from Egypt, India, Japan and Vietnam, classified by the following HS codes:
