Founded in 1970, European Metal Recycling (EMR) is the UK's largest scrap metal recycling company, with branches in the south-east, central and north-east regions of the UK, specialising in the recycling of scrap metal from a variety of sources including vehicles, consumer products, industry and construction.
EMR has reportedly sold part of its Metals and Waste Recycling (M&W) business to Recycling Lives, a UK recycling and waste management company. The sale was the result of an investigation by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) into EMR's acquisition of M&W in 2017.
