The EIA Application File for the project was reviewed by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.
The project, which was prepared by Çınar Engineering and costed 22.185.755.319 TL, will include the construction of container, general cargo, ore, bulk dry and liquid cargo and fuel oil storage areas. In addition to the western and eastern breakwaters, docks and piers are also included in the project.
Within the scope of the project, the port will be able to serve ships from 1,000 DWT to 200,000 DWT. In order to make the approach road and the depths at the mouth of the port suitable, works will be carried out with a width of 250 meters at the narrowest point. The port basin will be dredged to a depth of -20 meters and 22 million m³ of dredging will be carried out on a total area of 194 hectares.
