Egypt is taking important steps to strengthen its iron and steel sector and encourage new investments. Minister of Industry and Transport and Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development Kamel Al-Wazir and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib met with Ayman El-Ashry, President of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Ashry Steel Group. It was stated that among the noteworthy topics of the meeting were increasing production capacity, integrating advanced technologies into the sector and attracting investors.
Another prominent topic of the meeting was making the steel industry more sustainable. Officials stated the importance of promoting the use of renewable energy sources to reduce carbon emissions. This transformation aims to increase Egypt's competitiveness in the global market while complying with international regulations, especially the European Union's environmental standards.
Minister of Industry Al-Wazir emphasized the strategic importance of the iron and steel sector for critical areas such as construction, infrastructure, and engineering. He also emphasized the importance of reducing dependence on imports and increasing exports by supporting domestic production. For his part, Ayman El-Ashry emphasized the positive impact of the government's support to the private sector on the industry, noting that these efforts contribute to the growth of the Egyptian economy.
