Making a statement on his social media account, Smotrich claimed that his announcement that he had stopped imports to Israel meant a serious violation of the international trade agreements that Türkiye had undertaken. "We have national dignity, national pride and a strong economy, and that economy does not need to support those who fight against it," Smotrich said. he said.
Smotrich said, "If, at the end of Erdoğan's term, Turkish citizens elect a leader who is sane and not hostile to Israel, it will be possible to reopen the trade route with Türkiye."
Smotrich wrote that China, Eastern Europe, Greece, Germany, Southern Cyprus, Taiwan and "more" could be alternatives to Turkish imports.
