Earthquake region needs 2 million 500 thousand tonnes of rebar

According to the statement made by Mehmet Özhaseki, Minister of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change;

"Around 180 thousand tenders have been made in the earthquake zone and approximately 500 thousand more houses will be built"

Giving information about the houses to be built in the earthquake zone, Özhaseki said, "It is really a huge disaster. Thank God, we overcome these disasters and continue to heal the wounds. As a state, we need to build 680 thousand houses. We need to build more than 170 thousand places such as warehouses and workplaces. In total, the number we face is around 850 thousand. There is such a damage in front of us. But we will hopefully overcome them. In the first stage, around 180 thousand tenders were made. Their deliveries will be made perhaps in October, November or December. Our first rightful citizens will go to that region and live in those security houses."

According to the result of the statement made; a total of 680 thousand houses need to be rebuilt in the earthquake zone. Since around 180 thousand houses are under tender and construction, 500 thousand new houses are planned to be built. If 5 tonnes of rebar is used for each of 500 thousand houses, the need for rebar in the region is approximately 2 million 500 thousand tonnes.

If the factories in the region meet the total daily production of 20 thousand tonnes of rebar, the need for rebar can be completed in 125 days.
