Dr. Salam Al Sharif (RAA), President of the Recycling Association of Africa, attended the Global Steel Summit held on September 9-10 at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Center, where he made a presentation highlighting the critical role of recycling in the steel industry.

At the event, which brought together industry leaders, innovators and policy makers for discussions focused on sustainability and recycling, Dr. Salam highlighted the critical importance of recycling in the steel industry. “As we strive for a more sustainable future, embracing recycling is not only beneficial, it is imperative,” he said in his presentation. Through networking sessions at the summit, Dr. Salam was able to make strong connections with other industry leaders and explore potential collaborations to move recycling projects forward. “Collaboration is key,” said Dr. Salam, "Together, we can develop new strategies and technologies that will not only benefit our businesses, but also the environment."

Seeking media partnership with MetalWorld Magazine

At the Global Steel Summit, Dr. Salam, who is also RAA President, met with Dnyanesh Chandekar, Editor-in-Chief and CMD of Chandekar Business Media Pvt. Ltd. at the Global Steel Summit to discuss opportunities to establish a strategic media partnership to promote recycling. During the meeting, both sides focused on potential collaborations that would benefit the local community and their organizations.

“Our goal is not only to grow our brand, but also to build strong ties with the communities we serve,” Dr. Salam said, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in the digital age. “Partnering with a respected media outlet like MetalWorld Magazine will allow us to reach our target audience and share valuable information, resources and stories,” he added.
