In the workshop held after the 3rd Ordinary General Assembly of DIŞYÖNDER, the DIR proposal was discussed in all its aspects. At the workshop, which was also attended by officials from the Ministry of Trade, the importance of increased coordination between the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Industry and Technology and TOBB was emphasized for the success of the DIR.
In his assessment of the workshop, Dr. Hakan Çınar said that it would be useful to make regional and sectoral distinctions in DİR. Dr. Çınar suggested that the DIR should be used to a greater extent in order to increase Türkiye's competitiveness. Çınar continued as follows:
“In order to increase the technological level of domestic value added and export product, radical steps must be taken regarding the primary target product and sectoral scope of the DIR. We expect positive results from the work we are doing with the Ministry of Commerce on this issue. We should see the DIR as an opportunity in our efforts to increase our exports and add value to production. Of course, we must also eliminate the problems that arise during implementation. "We will raise these considerations and the report we have produced in the Trade Facilitation Committee."
Dr. Çınar added that the issues of arbitration and mediation included in DIŞYÖNDER's vision for the future will be implemented in a short time and that DIŞYÖNDER's initiatives on arbitration, especially in foreign trade disputes, will be of great benefit.
