Diler Demir Çelik demonstrates an eco-friendly approach by using more than 90% scrap in its production processes and continues its efforts based on the principles of a circular economy. Investment in Renewable Energy and Efficiency Increase
Fatih Gökçe announced that the renewable energy investments, aimed at meeting half of the energy needs of the wire rod mill, have been completed and the system is now active. These investments are expected to significantly contribute to the company’s environmental and economic sustainability goals.
Additionally, Gökçe noted that equipment modernizations at the facilities have resulted in over 20% energy efficiency improvement, with pump design modifications leading to efficiency increases between 15% and 50%.
Contribution to Turkey with a Solar Power Plant
Diler Holding’s 25-megawatt solar power plant is making significant contributions to the Turkish economy while preventing 15,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. The company mentioned that its existing solar energy projects are in the planning phase and aims to implement these projects shortly.
Carbon Neutral Goal and Future Plans
Fatih Gökçe, Chief Sustainability Officer of Diler Holding Demir Çelik Group, emphasized the company’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2035. He mentioned that a project aimed at preventing the loss of anthracite, which is commonly used in steel production, and increasing its efficiency has resulted in the reduction of 10,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. He also noted that they aim to reduce scope 1 emissions by 20% annually and plan to decrease scope 2 emissions by 98% before 2030.
Through these sustainable projects, Diler Demir Çelik is successfully undergoing a significant transformation process both environmentally and economically.
