Quota utilization for hollow profiles exceeded 98%
According to the assessment made by SteelRadar, the progress in the use of the EU's quotas for Turkey gained momentum. Product-based differences drew attention. Turkey's most demanded product was hollow profiles with 97.51% usage. The remaining quota of 98.208/t was recorded as only 2.441/t. In the July 29, 2023 evaluation, the usage rate was 88.58%.
Expectations for pipes are moderate, but there has been no immediate action
The usage rate in welded pipes was recorded as 43.91%. According to this figure, 21,320/t of the 38.012/t quota allocated to Türkiye was used. On the wide welded pipe, 5.439/t, or 36.49%, of the quota allocated to 14.905/t was used.
Demand for rebar and wire rod is moving very slowly
In the July 29 evaluation, only 6.06% of the 117,510/t quota announced for rebar was used. According to current evaluations, an increase of approximately 2% was seen. Of the 94,233/t quota allocated for Turkey, 8.33%, or 7.852/t, was used.
21.89%, or 25.725/t, of the 117,510/t quota allocated by the EU for wire rod was used.
HRC increased by 2.5% in about a month
For HRC (hot rolled coil), 15.27% of the EU's 469,183/t quota allocated to Türkiye was used. At the end of July, this figure was approximately 12.5%. The remaining quota amount was recorded as 397,561/t.
