According to the data compiled from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Türkiye's flat steel exports experienced a great decline in January. Export amount decreased sharply from 414 thousand tons to 185 thousand tons with a decrease of 55% compared to the previous year. However, considering the ups and downs in the industry, it is seen that this trend gained an upward momentum in March. Although there was a decrease of 35% in March compared to the same period of the previous year, although the amount of exports decreased from 488 thousand tons to 316 thousand tons, it reached the highest figure for this period of the year.
Considering all these data, it is seen that Turkey's flat steel exports followed a fluctuating course in the January-July period covering the first 7 months of 2023.
