Crude steel production in four African countries up 18.8% m-o-m
In March this year, crude steel production in Egypt, South Africa, Libya and Tunisia increased by 18.8% m-o-m and 8.4% y-o-y to around 1.35 million tons.
Crude steel production decreased in the first quarter of this year
In the first quarter of this year, crude steel production in these countries decreased by 2.6% y-o-y to around 3.71 million tons.
Egypt remains Africa's largest crude steel producing country
In March, Egypt ranked first with around 828,000 tons, increased by 17.4% m-o-m and 2.4% y-o-y.
