It was announced that Corinth Pipeworks has been contracted by TechnipFMC to supply 27 km of high frequency welded (HFW) steel pipes from TechnipFMC for Norwegian oil and gas producer AkerBP, which has plans to develop the 'Utsira High Project' in the North Sea.
Belgium-based Cenergy Holdings' steel pipe segment, Corinth Piperworks, one of the world's leading producers of steel pipes and profiles for the energy and construction sectors, with its headquarters in Athens, Greece, will manufacture the pipes for the project at this facility, and plans to further reduce CO2 emissions by powering the production areas with electricity from the shore. For the steel pipe supply, TechnichFMC will be involved in the project as a company organized in two business segments, subsea and surface technologies, and as a technology provider involved in integrated projects.
The Utsira High Project, which is a joint project of two different submarines Symra and Solveig located in the central part of the North Sea, will integrate Symra's submarine into the Ivar Aasen platform, while the Solveig submarine will be integrated into the Edvar Grieg platform to obtain convertible resources equivalent to 93 million barrels of oil.
