Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) published the confidence indices for services, retail trade and construction sectors for February 2025. According to the data, confidence indices fluctuated depending on the sector.
The confidence index in the service sector decreased by 1.9% in February compared to the previous month and decreased to 114.2. This decrease was explained by the 0.5% decrease in the business situation in the last three months, 2.4% decrease in the demand for services and 2.9% decrease in the demand expectation in the next three months.
In the retail trade sector, the confidence index increased by 1.6% to 116.3. This was supported by a 0.9% increase in business volume and sales in the last three months and a 2.2% increase in sales expectations for the next three months.
Confidence index in the construction sector decreased by 2.7% to 89.3. The decline in the construction sector was explained by the 1.2% decrease in the current level of registered orders received and the 4% decrease in the expectation of the number of employees in the next three months.
A confidence index above 100 indicates the optimism of the sector for the current and next period; a confidence index below 100 indicates pessimism.
