Commercial Metals Company (CMC), a US-based rebar manufacturer, has announced the successful acquisition of a metals recycling facility and its accompanying assets in the Galveston area from Kodiak Resources, Inc. and Kodiak Properties, L.L.C.
The purpose of this acquisition is to ensure a steady supply of scrap materials at competitive prices for CMC's steelmaking operations. The newly acquired assets have the capacity to process approximately 55,000 tons of ferrous and non-ferrous materials annually. These materials primarily consist of outdated ferrous scrap grades that are utilized by CMC's long product plants.
