The volume of production of all types of coal in Russia in June 2023 decreased by 6.9% compared to the previous month, but increased by 0.4% compared to June 2022, reaching 33.4 million tons.
Anthracite mining in June decreased by 6.7% compared to May, but increased by 10.7% compared to June last year. At that time, coking coal production increased by 6.1% compared to the previous month, but decreased by 8.7% compared to June 2022, amounting to 8.4 million tons.
In the first half of 2023, the total volume of coal mined amounted to 213 million tons, which is 1.1% more compared to January-June last year. Anthracite production increased by 2.6%, reaching 13.2 million tons. At that time, coking coal production decreased by 2.7%, amounting to 49.5 million tons in the first half of the year.
