China's stainless steel net exports increased

According to China Customs statistics, China's stainless steel imports decreased by 34.1% m-o-m and 48.6% y-o-y to around 123,000 tonnes in March.

In the said period, China's stainless steel exports decreased by 38.2% m-o-m and 8% y-o-y to 349,000 tonnes.

Therefore, net exports in March were about 226,000 tonnes, up 244.3% on month and 6.2% on year.

In the first quarter of this year, China's stainless steel imports amounted to 461,000 tonnes, down 51.22% y-o-y. Exports, on the other hand, decreased by 8.9% y-o-y to about 967,000 tonnes.
