According to information compiled by SteelRadar from China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) data; Chinese iron and steel stocks increased in the week of February 1-10.
The products that increased the most in the said period were wire rod and rebar. Looking at the stock report by product, HRC stocks increased by 17.7% to 2.19 million tons since the beginning of February. At the same time, this figure has increased by 31.9% (530 thousand tons) since the beginning of the year and by 34.4% (560 thousand tons) compared to the same period last year.
During this period, CRC stocks increased by 14.7% (140 thousand tons) to 1.09 million tons. This was up by 22.5% (200 thousand tons) compared to the beginning of the year and down by 4.4% (50 thousand tons) compared to the same period last year. Medium plate stocks increased by 15.5% (160 thousand tons) to 1.19 million tons. This was up 24% (230 thousand tons) compared to the beginning of the year and up 2.6% (30 thousand tons) compared to the same period last year. Wire rod stocks increased by 51.7% (300 thousand tons) to 880 thousand tons. This was up 57.1% (320 thousand tons) compared to the beginning of the year and down 26.7% (320 thousand tons) compared to the same period last year. Rebar stocks increased by 38.7% (1.13 million tons) to 4.05 million tons. This was up by 60.7% (1.53 million tons) compared to the beginning of the year and down by 8.6% (380 thousand tons) compared to the same period last year.
