China's crude steel production continued to increase on an annual basis in the first ten months of 2023. Total tonnage increased by 1.5% compared to the same period in 2022 and reached 952 million tons.
According to data shared by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), China's crude steel production in November 2023 increased by 0.4% on an annual basis and reached 76 million tons. On a daily basis, it decreased by 0.6% compared to the previous month and the average was recorded as 2.54 million tons.
When looking at China's finished steel production, there was a 4% increase on an annual basis and reached 110 million tons, according to the data of China National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). Total finished steel production in the first eleven months of 2023 increased by 5% on an annual basis, reaching 1.25 billion tons.
China's pig iron production decreased by 4% in November 2023, falling to 64 million tons, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). Total production in the January - November 2023 period was recorded at 810 million tons, an increase of 1.8% compared to the same period of 2022.
