According to analyses compiled by SteelRadar from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS); China's crude steel production in September 2023 decreased by 5.6% compared to the same month last year.
Producing 86.849 million tonnes of crude steel in September 2022, China produced 82.108 million tonnes of crude steel in the same month of 2023. Although there was a decrease in production in September, when we look at the March-September periods of 2022-2023, the production amount, which was 533.71 million tonnes last year, increased by 1.8% in the same period of this year and amounted to 628.912 million tonnes.
In 2023, the highest production was 95.726 million tonnes in March. Last year, the highest production was realised in May.
The month with the lowest production this year stands out as September.
