Ansteel Iron & Steel Group (Ansteel) plans to increase its electrical steel production to 1.2 million tons per year by the end of 2024.
To implement these plans, a new oriented (transformer) steel rolling line will be commissioned in the near future.
One of the largest steel companies in China with a crude steel production of up to 39 million tons per year, Ansteel's capacity allows an annual production of 1.1 million tons of electrical steel.
In November 2022, the company also started construction of the Xi'anshan mine in northeast China. Thanks to it, Ansteel will be able to receive 10 million tons of iron ore concentrate per year. Once operational, the mine will be the largest underground iron ore mining operation in the country.
