China increased steel production

China increased steel production by 11.5% yoy – up to 90.8 million tons in July 2023.

China increased steel production

The world's largest steel producer manufactured 90.8 million metric tons of the ferrous metal last month, down from 91.11 million tons in June but up 11.5% from the same month in 2022.

Steel consumption in China is expected to fall by 0.9% year-on-year in the second half of the year, and by 0.8% y/y in 2023.
