Chichester Metals, a subsidiary of Australia's Fortescue Metals Group (FMG), has applied for approval to build a new iron ore mine in Western Australia.
The Nyidinghu Mine, spanning 92,301 hectares and valued at $2 billion, is expected to produce 40 million tons of iron ore annually within 26 years. The first batch is expected in 2028. FMG's independent subsidiary, Pilbara Infrastructure, has also submitted a proposal for the East Hamersley Railway Project, which includes transportation, power, and water supply pipeline infrastructure.
