According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (" TUIK"), there have been significant changes in welded pipe imports in Türkiye in the last five years. Here are the details...

Changes in Türkiye's welded pipe imports in the last 5 years

According to the assessments, 2018 stands out as the year with the highest import figure in the last five years in Türkiye's welded pipe imports. While the total import figure was 155,876 tons, the highest imports were realized in November with 35,969 tons. The lowest import amount was recorded in December with 6,761 tons.

In 2019, imports ranked second with 98,704 tons. The highest import volume was recorded in September with 13,983 tons and the lowest in January with 4,413 tons.

2020 stands out as the year with the lowest import figures in five years. Total imports were 65,521 tons. The highest imports were in March with 6,537 tons, while the lowest was in April with 3,978 tons.

In 2021, welded pipe imports were recorded at 72,261 tons. The highest import was in January with 8,265 tons, while the lowest was in October with 4,397 tons.

2022 stands out as the third year with the highest import figures in the last five years. Total imports were 80,388 tons. The highest imports were recorded in August with 9,717 tons, while the lowest imports were recorded in January with 4,158 tons.

Looking at the January-September period of 2023, it is seen that the total import figure for 9 months is close to the total imports of other years. In the 9-month period, the total import amount was 58,246 tons. The highest imports were made in May with 7,837 tons, while the lowest imports were in January with 5,366 tons.

10.4% decrease in September compared to last year

Welded pipe imports for September, announced by TUIK today, increased by 1.58% compared to the previous month and decreased by 10.4% compared to the same month of the previous year to 66,702 tons.

It is noteworthy that import figures followed a high and horizontal trend between January and September. It remains to be seen what level the import figures will reach at the end of the year.
