Centravis, the Ukrainian manufacturer of stainless seamless pipes, aims to strengthen its position in the European market, especially in the automotive and vehicle sectors.
The launch of production in Uzhgorod allows Centravis to increase production volumes and reduce logistics costs for product delivery to customers in Europe. The company plans to expand production in Uzhgorod with the construction of the second phase, which is scheduled to be completed this summer.
Last year, the company's exports decreased by 33% y-o-y due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, logistical restructuring, power outages and Russian shelling. In February, the company launched a new production facility in Uzhhorod, specializing in instrument pipes for automotive brands such as Volkswagen, Audi, BMW and Chevrolet.
Ukrainian pipe producers increased their exports by 57.4% m-o-m to 32,710 tons in February. In the January-February period, Ukraine exported 53,490 tons of pipes worth $103.1 million, up 24.7 percent y-o-y. Pipe producers reduced production to 608,000 tons last year, down 38 percent y-o-y due to the continued Russian occupation.
