Brazil's pig iron exports were at 427.1 thousand tons in August and fell to 251.8 thousand tons in September.
In August, pig iron exports to the United States totaled 210.7 thousand tons, exports to Asian countries amounted to 29.1 thousand tons, exports to Argentina reached 8.3 thousand tons, exports to Italy were 3 thousand tons, and exports to Australia amounted to 700 tons. Shipments were made by producers in the states of Minas Gerais, Espirito Santo, and Mato Grosso do Sul.
In the first nine months of this year, Brazil exported a total of 2.81 million tons of pig iron. The majority of these shipments were from the southeastern states of Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo.
