In November, Brazil's production of crude steel reached 2.7 million tons, marking a 3.8% increase compared to the previous year. Imports experienced a notable uptick of 9.2%, totaling 356,000 tons, while the import values saw a decline of 7% to US$402 million. On the export front, there was a significant surge of 20%, resulting in 971,000 tons of exported crude steel. Export values also saw an increase of 5.7%, reaching US$723 million.
However, over the first 11 months, the overall crude steel production witnessed a decrease of 7.1%, amounting to 29.4 million tons. Imports, on the other hand, saw a substantial rise of 50%, reaching 4.5 million tons, while exports experienced a marginal dip of 0.9%, totaling 11 million tons.
