Blastr and Knauf Interfer partner to produce sustainable green steel

Knauf Interfer, a leading European metal processing company, has announced a significant partnership with Blastr Green Steel. The two companies will jointly supply the European market with 100,000 tons of ultra-low carbon steel annually.

Blastr's innovative production process utilizes hydrogen and renewable energy, resulting in 90% lower CO2 emissions compared to traditional steel production. This process is supported by a 2.5 million-ton capacity steel plant in Finland and a new green pellet facility in the United Kingdom.

Blastr CEO Mark Bula stated, "The collaboration between Blastr and Knauf Interfer is a significant step demonstrating Blastr's business model built on strong industrial partnerships and our customer-centric approach to meeting rapidly increasing demand. Together, we will create a more efficient green steel value chain delivering tangible climate change mitigation, coupled with a resilient regional supply chain."

Domenico Marino, COO of Knauf Interfer, added: "We are thrilled to partner with Blastr towards a greener future. This collaboration is a key step in meeting the growing demand for green steel through sustainable solutions across the supply chain and reflects Knauf Interfer's strong commitment to advancing the energy transition."

Blastr and Knauf Interfer are partnering to create a Europe-wide supply network for decarbonized steel, leveraging Knauf Interfer's logistics hubs in Duisburg, Germany. This collaboration represents a key step in meeting the surging demand for sustainable steel products.
