ArcelorMittal Poland has announced that it will not be able to restart one of its blast furnaces until the end of the year.
Citing weak European steel demand, high energy costs and high steel imports from abroad, it closed its No. 3 blast furnace at its Dąbrowa Gurnicza plant in early October.
ArcelorMittal said in a statement, “From now on, we are watching the market closely for forecasts of a possible increase in demand for a long-awaited recovery in activity in Europe. "We think it will recover in the coming weeks," he said.
ArcelorMittal said it continues to receive orders below the minimum threshold for two blast furnaces operating in Poland.
