ArcelorMittal has ordered a vertical slab casting machine from Italian metallurgical equipment manufacturer Danieli for the French plant Le Creusot.
The installation will smelt semi-finished products up to 150 mm thick, 1500 to 2100 mm wide and 4 to 6 meters long from special grades of steel, including stainless steel, and nickel-based heat-resistant alloys. Its commissioning is scheduled for May 2025.
