ArcelorMittal North America has announced that it aims to reach zero emissions by 2050. The company wants to reduce the world's steel production to zero and multiply it several times over to produce clean energy.
ArcelorMittal North America has launched projects such as the conversion of expired wood and plastic waste into biochar, a joint development with Lanzatech on gas fermentation to convert waste gases into bioethanol, and the capture and re-feeding of carbon monoxide into the blast furnace.
