ANDRITZ reportedly plans to implement a unified, consistent and user-friendly electrical and automation system supporting the contractor's efficient operation in order to minimize the impact on production at the plant. In this context, ANDRITZ is planning to implement the modernization in several phases and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2028.
The Linz plant reportedly includes a sinter plant with a capacity of 3 million tons per year, three blast furnaces (BF) with a capacity of 5 million tons/year, a BOF-based shop for slabs, with a capacity of 6 million tons/year, as well as equipment with a production capacity of 4.8 million tons/year HRC, 3.9 million tons/year CRC, 1.55 million tons/year coated products and 400,000 tons/year seamless pipes.
