The annual summit, themed "Enrichment in the Decade of Cooperation' for this year, is a collaborative effort between the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Administration and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). During the summit, around 80 government officials and business leaders from countries and regions engaged in Belt and Road cooperation, alongside business owners and investors, will converge to collectively explore investment and business prospects. They will do so by sharing their experiences and insights gained over the past decade of involvement in the Belt and Road initiative"
The summit will feature various discussion and interactive sessions, including business plenaries, topic-based sessions, and project presentations. The newly introduced Middle East forum will specifically address the business and investment landscape in the Middle East market.
"This year's Belt and Road Summit holds significant importance as it aligns with the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. It also marks the first time, post-pandemic, that the summit will take place with physical participation. We consider this a valuable opportunity and extend a warm welcome to guests from mainland China and abroad. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is delighted to host this event, with hopes that the summit will bolster Hong Kong's role within the Belt and Road Initiative and foster trade opportunities, especially in emerging markets such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Middle East."
"Peter K. N. Lam, Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, remarked that the Belt and Road Summit, initiated in 2016, has evolved into a premier global business platform for capitalizing on opportunities arising from the Belt and Road Initiative and fostering significant collaborations. The Chairman anticipates that this year's forum will draw in over 5,000 participants."
