A fire broke out at a plant run by Posco, the country’s largest steelmaker, on Saturday, halting operations at its production facility in Pohang, North Gyeongsang.
The fire was reported near a No.2 blast furnace of the plant at around 7:10 a.m., according to fire authorities. There were no casualties.
The blaze was extinguished in one and half hours, but operations have not fully resumed as of 9:30 a.m.
