Vietnam experienced a notable increase in scrap imports in august, up 43% compared to the previous month. However, these imports are still 5.6% lower than in the same period last year. Scrap imports from January to August amounted to 2.87 million tonnes, a decrease of 6.8% on an annual basis.
The United States was one of the first or second suppliers of Vietnam's scrap imports, but fell to fourth place in August.
Additionally, imports from Japan in August increased by 56% compared to July and 11% compared to the previous year.
Looking ahead, the amount of scrap imported in September is expected to remain at relatively low levels.
