U.S. crude steel production declines on a weekly basis

According to data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), crude steel production decreased by 1.9% to 1 million 629 thousand tons in the week ending November 2 compared to the previous week. Production decreased by 2.5% compared to the same week last year.

Steel producers worked at 73.3% capacity in this period. Total production since the beginning of the year was recorded as 74 million 111 thousand tons, a decrease of 2.1% compared to the same period of the previous year. The average capacity utilization rate of steel producers since the beginning of the year was 76.1%.
