The Houthis in Yemen announced that the U.S. targeted the Al-Habashi Iron Factory in Hudaydah, western Yemen, with a series of airstrikes, completely destroying the factory.
Al-Habashi Iron Factory, one of the largest steel producers in Yemen, played a significant role in import and export activities due to its strategic location on the Red Sea coast of the city.
It is known that the factory only produced pipes. Local sources stated that the airstrike took place at a time when there were no workers or personnel at the factory. This attack led to the complete destruction of the factory.
On March 7, the Houthis had announced that they would give Israel a 4-day deadline to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza, otherwise, they would resume maritime operations against Israel.
On March 15, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social platform account that he had instructed the military to launch "a major attack" against the Houthis in Yemen.
The leader of the Houthis, Abdulmalik al-Houthi, stated in a message that the new U.S. attack (on Yemen) would contribute to further strengthening their military forces, and that they would respond to the escalation of tensions by escalating the situation in the same manner.
