Exports of building materials, the main reason for the slowdown in markets, fell by 5.2 percent in value to $2.33 billion in July compared with the same period last year.

The correction of the Turkish lira in the same period and the return of the economy to rational levels have not yet had a positive effect on foreign trade in July.

Annual exports of building materials totaled $30.21 billion.

In July 2023, exports of construction materials, which reached $33 billion, decreased by 5.2 percent compared to the same period in 2022. While the volume of exports fell to 3.66 million tonnes in July, annual (last 12 months) exports of building materials were $30.21 billion.

In July 2023, exports of iron and steel products fell by 7.7% in volume and exports of non-metallic mineral products fell by 25.3%. Exports of metal products increased by 5.5%, exports of chemical products by 11.6% and exports of fabricated metal products by 42.9%.
