The World Steel Association shared crude steel production data for February 2025. Türkiye's crude steel production in February decreased by 5.6% to 2.9 million tons compared to the same period of the previous year.
There was a 9.38% decrease compared to January 2024. January production figure was recorded as 3.2 million tons.
Türkiye maintained its 7th place in the world crude steel production ranking despite a 5.6% decrease in February. China, the world's largest steel producer, ranked first with a production figure of 78.9 million tons, a decrease of 3.3%.
Global crude steel production decreased by 3.4% in February compared to the same period of 2024 to 144.7 million tons.
