During the XI intergovernmental commission meeting held in Tashkent, Akylbek Japarov, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, announced the imminent opening of a car production plant in the Chuy region of Kyrgyzstan, jointly established with Uzbekistan. This venture signifies a significant stride in bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
Japarov further emphasized the progress made on various collaborative endeavors spanning investment, transportation, and energy sectors. Notable among these projects are the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, as well as the Kambarata HPP-1 and Chatkal HPP hydroelectric power plants.
The construction of the new automobile plant begun in May 2023 and will have a production capacity of 10,000 vehicles annually, contributing to job creation with over 1,000 permanent positions.
The XI meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission concluded with the signing of a protocol that consolidated the commitments and agreements reached during the discussions.
